Visitors to Kenya must apply for an Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA) before travelling. You can apply for your eTA 90 days in advance of your visit, and it is recommended applying at least two weeks beforehand. An eTA costs $30 USD, and specific African countries are exempt from paying. Certain passport and eVisa holders are exempt from applying for an eTA.

You must have a valid passport with at least six months remaining before the expiry date, plus a blank page available.
You will need to provide a letter of invitation from WHX Nairobi, which can be proof of attendance.
Pay the application fee and wait for approval.

Matatus are colourful minibuses that shuttle around Nairobi. It's a cheap and fun way to get around. Don't forget to carry cash and hold on tight.
I'm interestedThe official local currency is the Kenyan shilling, which you'll see written as Ksh. The currency code is KES. Carry cash with you for small purchases, and use your bank and credit cards for larger purchases. Some large organisations, such as hotels and tourism companies, accept USD cash.
Early mornings and late evenings can be cool, whereas the midday and afternoon heat can be intense. It is recommended to pack for all temperatures.
English and Swahili are the official languages of Kenya, and there are more than 60 smaller languages spoken across the country. Sheng is an urban language blending English and Swahili and is rapidly on the rise.
Most large organisations speak English, but you might like to learn "Hujambo" or "Sasa" as a greeting, and "Asante" when thanking someone.
Visiting Nairobi's National Park is a must, located right on the edge of the city. Book a two-hour tour for the chance to see lions, black rhinoceros, giraffes, and more. Check out the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage within the park too, to say hi to cute baby elephants.
Nairobi's food scene is a cultural melting pot, so why not check out Village Market Mall where there are over 50 restaurants under one roof. Try the local staples of ugali and goat.
You don't need to test for covid-19 when entering Kenya.
If you are from a country where yellow fever is endemic, you must provide a valid yellow fever certificate when applying for your eTA.
